Treatment of teeth with injured pulpal tissue begins with a diagnostic evaluation. Our state-of-the-art digital office software will allow the patient to fully appreciate and understand the treatment procedure. Dr. Peterson will administer a local anesthetic to ensure the patient is pain-free. Then the injured pulp is removed, and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned, shaped, and filled. Most treatments can be completed in one visit, ranging from 30-60 minutes, depending on the number of canals and the complexity of the case. There are normally no restrictions after the procedure concerning driving or returning to work. When your root canal treatment has been completed, our office will send your referring dentist a complete report. It is also important for you to contact your restorative dentist for a follow up restoration. This should be done soon after your final visit with Dr. Peterson. Your dentist will help you decide what kind of permanent restoration is necessary to protect your tooth.
